In accordance with European regulations regarding health claims, we cannot make specific claims about the effects of Optimized Tryptophan Plus. Life Extension cannot make statements about nutrients without an approved health claim by the European Commission. These claims are approved based on scientific evidence evaluated by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Health claims are statements about the relationship between nutrition and health.
Health claims are approved when the evidence meets strict criteria. For herbs, this is challenging as much evidence is traditional and does not meet modern scientific standards. Therefore, the European Commission has yet to establish definitive evaluation criteria for herbal claims.
